  November Is The Cruelest Month

  i have been going through old papers and photographs since my mother passed away.

  it has reminded me of some of the reasons that i really hate november.

  this year has added to it obviously.. thirty-four years ago, my father passed away in early november.

  JRK, now you know how preoccupied I have been for the last month and more. Just know this, I most certainly understand your broken heart. Mom died in Jan 04 and now dad today. I am a 60 year old orphan. However natural, it is almost unendurable. We WILL endure though, both of us. Dwell on the good, I will too. My promise. Well wishes JRK.

  Pomo, if it helps you process your journey out and helps others to find a way out, have at it. Don't turn tail and start complaining that bullys are poking you. Pull your big boy pants up and start writing. Many will support you. Just don't over sell your self. Your writing should sell itself. Good luck.

  The appeal is the pseudo-intellectual nature of the religion and the demystification of the doctrine. There is no magic or hocuspocus and it is a faux spirituality based on seemingly logic based doctrine. In a word, it appeals to ego.

  just spent 8 hours in a 1 day elders school last weekend.

  clarification given: "moving forward any elder, ms, or pioneer who themselves or someone under their roof enrolls in higher education, may no longer qualify for privileges in the congregation.

  their qualifications will have to be reviewed by their boe.".

  "not doing well spiritually"

  working late tonight i just thought this up : whenever we used to hear someone say " so and so is not doing well spiritually™ " or "not doing well in the truth™ " what it really means is they aren't doing well climbing the wtbts's corporate ladder or doing their beck and call following the herd cult thingy.

  Death of a last Grandparent

  recently lost my last surviving grandparent, my great and wonderful nan.

  So sorry for your loss. My 89 year old father is home on hospice. (Not much longer now.) He was never a witness, just associated enough to be disappointed in the cult's treatment of my dying mother. He never could see a difference between Joseph Smith and Pastor Russell. Smart guy. This whole hospice thing is exhausting and heart wrenching.

  When you fade, break free. When you waffle and attend a little they think there is hope. Cut it off and give little in reasons why. You are not obligated to say anything to anyone. Determine what you feel you MUST say and then be coy. Good luck.

  from facebook:just saw my jw mother after not seeing her for more than 2 years.

  when i do see her, it is brief, she never asks about my life, doesn't ask about my 4 children her grandchildren, doesn't ask about my grandchildren...her great grandchildren, she doesn't ask about my other 2 brothers that she is also alienated from, she doesn't ask about my brothers family.

  she doesn't talk about the jw/org either.
